Jewels of the Nile

This collection's inspiration comes from ancient Egypt--it's gemstones, amulets and hieroglyphics. I love to look at history for inspiration and recreate with a contemporary look.

Scarab-represents transformation, renewal and resurrection.

Lapis-thought to be sacred and favored by the gods. Egyptians placed a piece of lapis on alters as an offering. A lapis scarab was commonly buried with the dead. It's believed to have properties of awakening the third eye and tapping into your intuition.

Egyptians also used lapis for cosmetics and painting.

Asian Influence

My first jewelry line for Angie Star Jewelry was inspired by Asian icons, images and symbols. The gems were chose for compatibility. Jade is considered by the Chinese to have symbolic energy, having a balancing effect while stimulating creativity. Pearls are organic-- once rare and more precious than diamonds with the finest coming from the orient. Coral--like pearls are organic and many cultures believe them to be talisman, protecting against evil spirits and a symbol of friendship and truth.
