Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans?

My new line is a tribute to my birth place of New Orleans. It is an eclectic mix representing the old and the new--memories of the past and relics found today. The influence come from New Orleans' rich history and the colors of the Mardi Gras.

The traditional colors of Mardi Gras are purple (Justice), green (Faith), and gold (Power).

I began this line with a couple of sweet light pieces using these colors.

Tri-color Necklace
Lavender with green & purple pearls on gold filled chain

Dainty Tri-color Necklace
Lavender and green gems on gold filled chain

Sweet Crystal earrings
Lavender colored crystals, green borealis crystals & gold filled chain

These two are my transition pieces from gold to silver . It represents the an old saying from girl scout days... Silver and Gold, silver and gold...make new friends but keep the old. Very meaningful to native New Orleanians post Hurricane Katrina.

Jewels of the Nile

This collection's inspiration comes from ancient Egypt--it's gemstones, amulets and hieroglyphics. I love to look at history for inspiration and recreate with a contemporary look.

Egyptians also used lapis for cosmetics and painting.

Asian Influence

My first jewelry line for Angie Star Jewelry was inspired by Asian icons, images and symbols. The gems were chose for compatibility. Jade is considered by the Chinese to have symbolic energy, having a balancing effect while stimulating creativity. "It embodies the Confucian virtues of wisdom, justice, compassion, modesty and courage, yet it also symbolizes the female - erotic." --ICM Gem Bureau. Pearls are organic-- once rare and more precious than diamonds with the finest coming from the orient. Coral--like pearls are organic and many cultures believe them to be talisman, protecting against evil spirits and a symbol of friendship and truth.
